The Central Securities Depository (CSD) operated as an internal unit of Bank of Ghana from November, 2004.
Later in June 2010, the CSD was incorporated under the name Central Securities Depository (GH) Limited, as a wholly owned subsidiary of Bank of Ghana. The Company was officially launched on 30th November 2011 including its website and logo. At the launching were the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, a representative of the Minister of Finance, the Second Deputy Governor, dignitaries and Managing Directors of participating institutions of the depository graced the occasion.
